Nascar 3 is out. It came out today.Hi,
It is basically Nascar 1999 but with lots of great enhancements.
First the graphics are great on the G400. It runs flawlessly in 1024x768
with everything jacked way up. Cars look a lot better and tracks are great!
What is really great though is the new smoke effects. Just like real
racing. Cause a big wreck and watch the smoke. You cannot see where you are
going when you drive through it, just like real racing. Amazing!
The thing though that really grabs you is the sound. It supports A3D so
the sound comes from everywhere. Put on headphones, out the volume up, and
you will swear to god you are in a real Nascar. The spotter is different but
sounds just like the ones you hear during the races.
I cannot recommend it enough if you liked Nascar 1999 and Nascar 2.
If you have the G400, or I would think even a Voodoo 3 or TNT2 run, don't
walk, and go out and get it.
Trust me, the smoke and sound alone are worth the fifty dollars.
Only drawback is there are about 20 drivers missing. For the most part, the
top ones are there (Especially Tony Stewart and Chad Little who I follow),
but again there are about 20 cars numbered 100 and above with fictional
names. You can get close to a real 43 car field by using some of the Bush
drivers. It will only be a few weeks before the other cars are on the web
though.
Car setups from Nascar 2 and 1999 work, although there is now a sway
bar and grill tape setting.
I am sure I have forgotten a bit but trust me on this, this game is
great.
If I am wrong, may I be flamed all to hell!!!!!
