  • What's the deal with Open GL?

Why the hell can't I get any of my games to run in Open GL with my G400 max. I've got the 5.25 drivers, and the ICD. Games run in Direct 3D with no problems. Half-Life and Q3A will not run in OGL though.
Also, where the heck do I enable/disable V-SYNC for the G400?

    Any answers?...

    Quantum KA 18 Gig HD
    256 Megs 133 MHz RAM
    Montego 2 Sound Card (A3D)

Why? I dunno. You gave very little to go on. Do the game lock up your system? do they give an error? What?

As far as vsynch, you can either do it through a registry hack, or with the Matrox Overclock util. Both are available at the murc download pages.

      Hint: Dual-Head...

I answered that on the MHW page as well... Don't use Dual Head with OpenGL.

        Sorry I was so vague....

During Q3A initialization, the screen flashes yellow, then goes blank, my system then reboots. I don't even get into the game menu!

During Half-Life, I can get into the menu, and apply driver/video settings. But once I try to launch a game, I lose my video signal, screen goes blank, system freezes, and I have to reboot.

As far as the tweak utility goes, I've got it but there is no option for 'VSNC' on the applet.

Also, Dual-Head is currently (and has been)
          disabled.

This is the util I was speaking of, which has control for vsynch (FlipOnVblank)...

            http://www.murc.ws/Driver/Win9x/PD5/...ak_utility.exe

For the crashes...what kind of card did you have before? It could be interferance from left over GL drivers of the old card. Make sure there is no opengl32.dll in the game directories...

This is a brand new system I just built. Fresh install of Win98 and no previous Video.
