I recently upgraded to G400 MAX(Woohoo!) from a Canopus voodoo1. Everything is fine and dandy except for the fact that everytime I exec my custom binds, I end up back in software mode. I don't really want to dump my custom binds. Are there any settings within the Q2 config that I can change to get G400 goodness by default? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you haven't told Q2 to switch to Voodoo OpenGL somewhere in your custom config... else Q2'll baulk and switch back to software.

That would be my guess as well.
Look for a line in the autoexeccfg (and the autoexec of any mods you play) for these commands:
set vid_ref "gl"
set gl_driver "opengl32"

If they are set to anything other than this, software mode will kick in. If these lines aren't in there, add them....

Thanks Chamelespoon and Kruzin. Do you know any Q2 sites that tailor to Q2 configs? Graphic settings and others? Also, one of my configs has gl mod set to 6. What is the significance of that? Thanks guys.

that link guides you through all options and generates an 'autoexec.cfg' for you

(for Quake2, Half-Life and Sin)
