    Just benchmarked: 2700 3DMarks. 23 fps in Unreal @ 640x480.
Changing my G400 tomorrow to a V3000. Matrox support didn't answer. German hotline didn't help "yes, it should run fast". Bye bye Matrox.
DH and 32bit was cool, but not with 23 fps and for that price!!!!

kooguy - you cannot compare your scores with Hunsow's. Never compare different CPUs.
Find someone with the same CPU as yourself and graphics card, and then see if yours is low. it does seem low to me though. I have a PII@515mhz and get around 4300 up to and including 1024x768x32.

      Cheers,
      Steve

PS: Some or all of the above message may be wrong, or, just as likely, correct. Depends on what mood I'm in. And what you know. ;¬)

I don't know if there's anything wrong with 3700+. My friend's machine is almost identical, only he has a dual head that clocks higher than mine. His best score is low 3900's. (drives him nuts, but real world is probably zip difference) The only thing I have different is a 128meg stick of EMS PC133 HSDRAM. I can turn all of my memory settings to the lowest in my bios. My friend has 2 64meg PC100 sticks. I don't know if this really makes any difference at all. I don't have the registered of 3dmark, so all I can do is 800x600 16 bit. Hope this helps, but I doubt it. Who knows? If I re-installed windows it would probably change again.

I installed 3D Mark 99 again now that I have
            Win 98 SE. I get 4013 3D marks now. It's better now.

Steve, how did you get such high scores at 1024 32? Your P2 515 shouldn't be that much faster than my Celery 464. Is your G400 a MAX or vanilla. Is it OCed? Man, you must have some super drivers from the big M if you are getting scores like that.

Also, I thought Hunsow had a Celery or a P2. Now that I know he has a P3, it explains the score with his G200. Damn SSE...

Ok, one little side question for Maniac. Does that Pioneer 6X have SPDIF? Also, is it a OEM one?

BTW in cpu score i get around 3300-3400. Thats quite normal for a celeron 433 isn't it?

Sorry, Hubas but that is kinda low. I get 4558 CPU 3D Marks. I got higher than you even before I OCed my MAX and blew Windows away for a fresh install. I think you should install Windows over again too. Something seems to be wrong. You are getting abnormal scores with a setup like yours.

hubas, there are a few reasons that may make a G400 slow:

                    1) You are not using bus mastering. Check this with the Control Panel, it is in Advanced Settings/Options (if I remember right). If bus mastering is not enabled, you could try enabling it. If it can not be enabled, it is probably because your G400 does not have an Interrupt. With certain BIOSes and Motherboards you have to tick the box (assign IRQ to VGA) in the BIOS setup.

Btw, bus mastering disabled gave me 1900 in 3dmark max... with a G400 vanilla/Athlon 500 combination...

                    2) Your G400 is sharing an IRQ with another device. You should list the IRQs of your devices in Control Panel, or/and in BIOS setup, if that is possible with your BIOS. Correcting this may force you to change the PCI slots of your other add-on cards.

                    3) You have other software running in your system. (the worst example is MS Office FastFind...). Probably you have chcked this already, but pressing ctrl-alt del will bring you the list of all that is running. You may find some surprises there.

And possibly a million other reasons...

                    M.
