Installing G400

I just purchased a G400 32meg oem. Before I put this card in I would appreciate any tips that would help. I'm replacing a V3 3000. I haven't had any problems with the voodoo card, but I'd like 32bit color and bumpmapping in my games. I'm seeing a lot of posts of people with problems with the G400, and I hope I didn't make a mistake. I probably will put a voodoo2 card in just for those games that have problems with the G400 (I got one of those $29 creative specials).
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I previously ran a G200 on this setup with no problems.

First of all, grab the latest drivers'n'bios: http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/la...ivers/home.htm http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/bios/home.htm

Change of gfx cards:

1. extract the drivers to a comfortable position
2. boot into save mode
3. enter system properties and delete any gfx-card entry
4. shutdown your compo
5. change cards
6. boot up and when prompted point to the location where your extracted G400 drivers are
7. reboot after installation
8. have fun with your new card

...

In case you experience a BSOD (black screen of death) at first bootup after installation:

1. hit reset button
2. a popup could appear stating 'this adapter is not supported by the current drivers' or something similar
3. when prompted to choose a 'standard VGA resolution' (e.g. 640x480 at 16 colors), CANCEL !!!
4. reboot and everything should be fine except for you're system failed AGP2x tests and hence runs in AGP1x

Note: This seems to be happening on quite a few OCed systems running at higher bus frequencies, but it doesn't happen on all systems, so you might find out that you don't need this last procedure ...

Updating your bios:

1. extract the bios file
2. use either UBiosWin.exe from Windows or Ubiodos from a DOS-prompt
3. have a 1.44MB floppy disk at hand to create an emergency disk
4. follow the onscreen instructions

I guess that should do it for now, any corrections ?
