err..Rickn, are you sure about those numbers. Seems to me that a G400 at 160Mhz core is like 128% overclocked. And since the Max is set to 150Mhz core 200Mhz memory, wouldn't your memory be somewhere around 213Mhz?

Used Matroxes util and 120% worked fine. Have large fan blowin at heatsink, so its extremely cool. I took it to 130%, and still cool, games seem ok half the time, occasional funky colors. Not all the time. Could I keep pushing it? Heatsink cool, the large fan seems to be doing the job. Got the fan from some old AT comp that had a fan that plugged into its own outlet.

Is there an easy way to check the speed of our G400's ram (5 or 6 in the serial # of chips or something)?

Well, yeah. Thats where it says -6 for 6ns ram (166.66Mhz sreed ram for the G400) and -5 for the 5ns ram (200Mhz speed ram for the Max).
This is indicated on your memory chips on the g400.
I am just wondering those than can overclock their G400 like crazy ( >120% ) actually have the faster ram. Cos we all know these are gems G400Max's that never made it as a Max and were sold as a regular G400 with regular G400 price.
