  • UT settings for MAX

Anyone worked out optimal settings for the Unreal Tournament demo, I'm getting some funny texture problems on light sources at times.

    I'm running on a:
Celeron 366@458/550 (depending on mood of machine)
    128Mb 133Mhz SDRAM
    G400 MAX
    Diamond MX300

Yeah, the texture zig-zag is there, even in 16bit high world detail. Only happens sometimes at wall junctions for me.

    I run at:

    - 1024x768x16bit
    - high world detal
    - medium skin detail
    - detailed textures

    Looks great, plays smooth.

    Just my $0.02.

I can only presume it's a D3D thing, as I get the same in Homeworld at times.

Ah well, runs like a dream apart from that.

Zig-zag pattern occurs here too with G400 32MB, 5.30 drivers).

DirectX7.0 fixed the windowing problem for me.
Alternate suggestion: advanced settings has some fullscreen option(s), check there.
Also, make sure it is using your D3D device.

Why are you guys running in 16-bit? I find it smooth as silk at 1024x768x32bit with high everything on. And my machine sucks farm animals. U.T. seems primed for 32bit color, and you probably wouldnt lose much speed. And graphics anomalies may go away, since I haven't seen any since I got the demo. Only time I see gfx glitches is when I drop texture detail to medium.
