DVDMax feature! help! please!

Hi, with the DVD max player you are supposed to be able to watch dvd's full screen on a TV while its only in a window on the desktop. now, does this feature work with other MPG players? like say playing a music video on the TV while typing up an essay? cuz i tried this and all it does is the music keeps playing but the image freezes until the mpeg player is in the foreground not background....

any ideas?
