You can grab the demo at www.3dfiles.com (all 300MB of it) but it's not the Internet demo, it's one ripped from CGW magazine. It's buggy and it's compressed and split into RAR files so you have to have an Unrar utility program. It's not for newbies. Heard the full demo should be out on Tuesday. You're better off waiting till then.

I already checked UIX (from 3dfiles). It runs badly on G400... let's hope it's just because of an early snapshot of the D3D engine...

It's unplayable at any resolution (640x480 or 1024x768). It doesn't seem to depend on the level of detail or resolution I set - it always has the same jerkiness.

The game looks awesome at 1024x768 though. Can't wait for the official demo with better D3D support

P.S. It's not G400 - TNT2 has the same problem exactly. This demo is really good only for Glide

Don't worry about Ascension's performance with the G400. Some time ago, one of the design team members said in an interview that the G400 is the team's favourite card for running Ascension, and that it works superbly and the eye-candy is mind-boggling.

I'm waiting eagerly for Ascension. My main concern is that I won't be able to get the Dragon Edition (Limited Edition) of Ascension! It sure looks set to rock!
