  • Turbog GL Manager Probs..Plus Games probs!

I have upgraded my drivers to the 5.3 version, and when I ran Turbo GL manager to patch Half Life etc, I couldnt run the games in Open GL mode.
Now, If I go into un-install the game patches,(JUST the TurboGL manager game patches, not the drivers) everything works fine.
Whats happening here? Am I running these games with the Turbo GL driver or not? Would these games run a LOT better if they worked with the 5.3 patch installed?
Also, I occasionally get a prob when starting Turbo GL Manager..I get a Fatal Error, saying 'This version of Powerdesk doesnt support this version of Turbo GL driver, etc'
I uninstalled the old drivers with the use of the utility on this site, so that should be ok.

    Help!!! Somethings not right!
    I have a Athlon 700, G400 Max, twin IBM 7200 22gb HD, 128megs.

    Have a similar problem too...

Whenever I run Q3 Test with TurboGL installed
    I get a flashing grey-white screen instead
of game graphics... however, the game isn't
hanged because I can type console commands
(without seeing anything, of course) and
I can hear menu sounds as I press cursor arrows keys...
If I remove TurboGL driver everything works fine again... ;(

    Tried :

    Powerdesk clean install
    W98 SE clean install
    September 10, OGL Beta ICD
Quake3 reinstall (in a different folder)

    HW/SW :
    Athlon 500 + Asus K7M + 128MB + G400 32MB DH
    Powerdesk 5.30
    Windows 98 SE
    Quake3 1.08

    please help
    thanks in advance.

If you had other vid-cards in your system before, make sure to delete all game config files (config.cfg etc) and set 'em up again.
Those mostly contain settings for video modes, hence those could be pointing to false references (Glide if you had a VooDoo before)

      ...

If thta doesn't help, you should use the uninstaller from Matrox to get rid of all traces of previous drivers and re-install PD5.30.
