Nocturne--beautiful game, but lacking substance.

Well, I just bought Noucturne from E.B., and it most likely will be going back very soon.

The graphics are excellent, but the gimmick with the real time shadows just isn't that great.

I played it for about an hour and it really didn't draw me in. There was too much silence. I wished they had more of a background sound (Like in Resident Evil they had that ticking grandfather clock sound). Or I wish they added more things to get your heart pumping. To me this game felt like King's Quest where you walk around and look for items--except it's just darker.

But yes, it's a great game for the MatroxG400 in terms of grahpics...but great graphics doesn't make a great game.

Thanks, I was looking at that title and was wondering....
You know what has been happening to me as of late is that I could care less about the the plot in alot of these game and really could care less if the main character "saves" the world. Like Drakan, a big dumb dragon with laura croft fighting spiders looking for keys? comon... So to spend the loot for a title and really get into the story and design of a game is getting harder for me. In half life I could not stop playing. I wanted to blast that suit with the briefcase soooo bad. hehheh

Battlezone2 will be a great game.

Hmmm..

I kinda liked nocturne , at leat a little.

sometimes it has that dark "lovercraft" feeling.
I kinda liked liked the 1930 and darkness theme.

I also think that it has some bakground sound and so on. Enough at least.

The graphica are also excellent, turning on all the graphics features and running at 1024*768 gives som nice images.
Hoverwer , the graphicsengine only seeems to produce dark and shadowy images.
I have yet to see clear and crisp colours like blue and red in the game..

But in the end you get a little bit tired of the game when there is too much "jumping" from rock to rock..
Feels like you are playing super mario brothers....

and thats not a good thing if u want to endorse the "lovercraft" felling.

I find nocturne to be a very entertaining game. When you play episode 1 it doesnt get that good until you hit the castle.

Also, Rayman 2 absolutely kicks arse on the G400.
