  • OpenGL and Quake II

When are the problems going to be fixed, we now had a driver update, what this driver update for me was zero. I still have those same flicker problems around objects that get lighted by different light sources, they look like black or shadowy dark spots. I am thinking of getting a geforce 256 when it becomes available because I am tired of waiting for openGL from matrox to get it right. We'll see.

    System is windows NT/Sp6
    256megs of ram. Millenium G400.

The problem must be specific to the NT drivers. Quake II is about the only OGL game that I am happy with on my G400, but I'm running Win98.

I tried out the Geforce from creative, the driver support sucks eggs, it's 10x worse than matrox. In NT I had no way of setting my own refresh rates, on top of that I couldn't even get it to change out of 640x480 and it kept wanting to reboot everytime I made a change to the sync rate. So much for that least I didn't lose any money giving it a go.

So looks like I am screwed for now, no good openGL drivers for quake II until 2010.
