Why It's work so slow???

I have need for speed high stakes
and it workd so slow with direct3d
i have p3 450 matrox g400 max 128 sdram
please help me to fix it and make it run faster
p.s i have most recent drivers

same prob for me
it ran better on my Marvel g200

could it be a direct 7 thing
after reading about how much better unreal tournament is with DX6.1 im thinking of uninstalling, maybe it will fix that annoying 'judder' that games get sometimes, im talking about when the frame rate is smooth is just judders, regularly everynow again like every 2 secs or something,
anyone else no what im talking about or is it just me
are you running DX7 Dr M?
