DK2 Bump Mapping - Hi guys, I have today posted a mail on WWW.DungeonKeeper.com. Please see the bottom of this post for further details.

Unfortunately EMBM is not working in DK2 v1.61. This is not a problem with your card or drivers or Matrox. The good news is it will be fixed in DK2 v1.7 - Sorry for the delay...

Here is a copy of my post on the DK2 site:

    Bump Mapping Problem On Update 1.61 - [11/24/99 - 10:59]

The Bump Mapping feature in update 1.61 seems to become corrupted when it passes through Dungeon Keeper 2's texture cache system. We apologise, users with G400s will now have to wait for v.1.7 to see water and lava in their full Bump Mapped Glory. Environment-Mapped Bump Mapping is an 'unsupported feature', we are adding for Matrox G400 users.

Non-English versions of DK2 v.161 are making their way through EA final QA. All going well, they should be ready to post on the site shortly.

Ah, Wayne... so we meet again. I'm so glad you found this forum.

I want to tell you that I appreciate your team's continuing efforts to refine and redefine DK2. The fact that bump-mapping didn't work the first time around is really insignificant next to the fact that you are communicating constantly with the customer and resolving the issue. To me, customer service is at least as important as the product, itself.

        Thanks!

        Bill

          Hey!
          I have a Matrox G400 SingleD. 32MB, and my buddy has a RivaTNT2 32MB!
In EMBM games his card looks just as great as mine! What that!!!?!?
          Does TNT2 have EMBM too!??!
We couldent see ANY difference in the imagequality or anything. We even tried to switch cards in our computers!

          Our systems:
          Intel Celeron 400MHz
          128MB RAM
          G400/TNT2
          10.1GB IBM HDD

Most games that support this feature did *not* out of the box. They usually need patches, and then some need to be enabled.

Download the patches, enable the feature, then get out a roll of Bounty so you can clean up as your friend drools all over your keyboard.

Gee, I didn't expect someone from Bullfrog to post a reply here. Nice to see that they do listen or read. :-)
