UT (Europe) You ROCK my World!!!

Got home tonight and what was lying on my doorstep, the day before its supposed to be released, you got it.

All I can say is thank you Matrox for the G400Max and the well timed new drivers. And yes there is a GOD, it's EPIC. UT is simply the best game i've ever played, if you thought the Demo was good, you ain't see nothing yet!!!.

Q3, too little, too late. UT is as sweet as candy IMHO.

Oh? It is? What is so much better than the demo, except those extra weapons and levels?

Things better in the real game rather than the demo:-

1. The new levels are superb, each has its own unique atomsphere. Unlike other games, I have not come across any 'dud' or mundane level. When you stop thinking of a level as just another deathmatch arena and each becomes an 'experience', you know that someone, somewhere has got it right.
2. The extra bots - each seems to have it's own personality. The extra skins and models make it a fresh new game. (Q3 bots are like metal boxes in comparison).
3. Assault game - This is how to implement an assault game!. Multiple objectives that have to be completed in order and then the task of ensuring the opposition doesn't complete it in a quicker time.
4. Last man standing - King wins, what more can I say ( although this is already in the demo and can be activated )
5. Weapons - all the extra weapons are superb, each has its own place in the game and i haven't even used the redeemer yet!.
6. Textures - although the G400 has great EMBM, they have used hi-res graphics to give a 'real feel to textures.

I've played virtually every 1st person perspective game theres been Wolfenstein to QuakeII, nothing comes anywhere near UT. I've played the Q3 demo and its nothing like playing UT.

What more can I say....

Although I liked the UT demo better than the Q3 demos, I won't get into which will be better in the end (Q3Arena isn't available to compare yet). Let's just say the UT is an excellent game, regardless of how Q3A turns out.

BTW- If you haven't tried the Redeemer yet, and you make your first attempt while playing online, don't use alternate fire (guided missile using missile cam) unless you have a good ping / latency with the game server. There's a bug right now that causes the missile to be self-destructed, basically right in your face, with the alternate fire, in this situation.
