Descent 3 & G400max

I don't know if anyone has addressed this before but, I can not get Descent 3 demo2 to run.. I can get into the game and get everything setup but when i try to launch a new game it stops responding.. If i hit esc i can get back to desktop, I take it that an error pops up but theres no way for me to get to it to read it.. I've tried to use the lowest settings and turn all effects off but with no success.. NE1 have any suggestions??

Well i'm glad to know that i'm not alone in this problem but sad to hear that others are just as frustrated as me...

Has anyone ran Descent 3 successfully?!?!?!

My first complaint is that the servers to download the demo from SUCK!!! As soon as this finishes downloading, I'll try to help you figure out your problems....

Ok, I can't get the demo to work either. It will either crash as you mentioned, or it will crash back to the desktop with an error about main.exe. However, the older demo works just fine (although it only runs at 640x480 MAX). If you want to spend the 10 min to download it, you can try it from that version.

Question: Does the demo support EMBM? (from someone who has got it to work? )

ok guys sorry to hear that u can,t get the demo to work
i have the full version and it works fine no problems except that i can,t seem to get the bumps to work
it looks dam good in 32 bit
plays smooth and fast at 1024 x 768 x 32
ok i know this dosen,t help u guys but i wanted to let u know that it might just be a bad demo and the game works fine although the full install is over 1 gig u don,t need all the movies its a lot smaller

Hey Seven.. In my searches for info on my problem i did see that in order to enable bumps you have to add -bumped to the command options under Misc. tab. I hope that helps you out. BTW thanks for the info on the full version, i was about to cross Descent 3 off my list.. )

Hey Seven, I don't think 1 gig is too much installation space do you? Shit, I could do with a 10 gig installation of something just so I feel like I'm not wasting my hd space...

I to have the full version and have not had any problems with my vanilla G400. My system PII 450@512,SB PCI128, 196mB, FSB 112, AGPx2 PD 5.41,AOPEN AX6B, W95b. One must think that the Demo is defective. I only did a meedium install also.

d3 demo dld'd on 8/29/99 works great with me.
the controls suck, after getting used to d1 and d2 on the keypad w/jstick, though
