  • OpenGL Problems

I am having problems with openGL under my G400 MAX. I installed the latest drivers, but OpenGL will not seem to work.

Half-life will not run in OpenGL mode ("this display mode is not supported by your video card"), and Quake2 crashes.

I have not yet been able to successfully run anything in OpenGL.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but could someone tell me what it is?

For OGL to work, you must:
    a)Be in 16 or 32 bit desktop - 24bit won't work.
b)Have Multi-display disabled - will only work in single display mode.
c)Have an IRQ assigned to your G400.

If it's not one of these, let us know...

Hey thanks, it was the IRQ that was the problem.

It affects all 3D cards, and all forms of 3D.
24 bit is for 2D only.
Most cards don't even have a 24bit option anymore.

              Guys,

Are you sure about the assigning an IRQ to the card???

I have my G400 (thanks Rags!!!) running very well indeed without! (we are talking about the BIOS option aren't we?)

I think you dont have the right ICD driver !
Deinstall all files of your Matrox Card (there is a deinstall tool on the matrox site) .. or remove everything in the registry by hand ..than install the driver properly ..that must run !!!!
