Bump Mapping

Any probs with bump mapping?
I have expendable and dk2 but neither game
seems to look any different when it is turned on or off.

Am i being think?

I think you'll find that with Expendable, only the water is bumpmapped?

i did not post this in the gaming forum because none om my games seem to show any signs of bump mapping.
I have seen screen shots of DK2 and Expendable, but mine does not look likethis.
Is there a *hardware* option that needs to be addressed?

btw, the expendable menu has a bump mapping enabled/disabled option on it. - does this mean that it should work?

Do you have a retail version of Expendable? If you bought it in the shops, you should get the patch that enables bump-mapping. You can get it on the Matrox site at

Oh, I know this is probably a stupid question, but you DO have a G400?

Bumpmapping is enabled by default. You would have to intentionally edit the registry, and add an obscure key to disable it.

I have not seen DK2, but the Expedible that came with my G400 shows a definate bumpmap on the water. Ant has some screenshots posted at http://www.murc.ws/reviews/Millenniu...BumpCost2.html to show you what you're looking for.

If it is the full retail game, it does need a patch.

Another demo that has bumpmapping you might try is Slave Zero. You can't miss it in that game.

Both games are *borowed*, They both have an option to turn on bump-mapping, but when i do it does not change a thing.
I have seen several screen shots of DK2 and Expendable so i know what i am looking for.
I have a 32mb DH G400 (non-max)
