  • Help with 3dmark99 max numbers

    So why does someones system with a celeron 300a@464 and a g400 16 meg get a 3dmark99 max score of 4060 and my K6-2 450 128 SDRAM and g400 32 meg only gets 3288 ???? Please explain

    Just a thought, but I'd say that it has something to do with the fact that the Celeron's onboard L2 cache is running at the full CPU speed while yours probably is not. Another difference may be the difference in floating point speed (if any) between the two processors.

      well the k6-2 450 does not have its own l2 cache but my motherboard does, a 1 meg one and im running my bus at 100mhz.

        Yeah, the FPU on the K6 lags considerably behind Intel. It's really not a gamers cpu...btw your L2 cache may be running at 100mhz, but mine runs at 464mhz and it's on die!
