Poor Halflife performance with G400

My brother just picked up a G400 to replace a banshee, and so far Half life performance is crap. We're geting about 20 fps @ 800x600 with a celeron 450 with 64mb of ram on the blowup demo.

The banshee scored better than this. Overall gameplay is not a smooth as the banshee either.

Q3 and UT both run great at high res and 32bit color, but for some reason, half life sucks

are you running OGL or D3D? do you have the latest drivers?

1. Upgrade the game. If you are running the "blowout" demo, it's an old version. That demo does not work with the latest updates.
2. Run in OpenGL
3. Add the line:
gl_texsort "1"
to your autoexec.cfg.
4. Use the SEARCH function on these forums. There are piles of threads addressing HL issues. Read them.
