Will Drivers make that much difference for me?

I know the g400 is cpu hungry and it runs very nice in UT on my system
1280 x 1024 16 bit all quality settings on at 38fps but quake3 and
quake 2 run slow.... q2 at 41fps and q3 at 20.5. Should I expect new
drivers to improve this significantly or is a cpu upgrade my only

128 megs sdram
g400 32 SH non-max (max heatsink and 5 ns sgram)

P.S. I have overclocked the card to 120% but have seen absolutely no change in performance

unfortunately, you should plan a cpu and mobo upgrade to either a P-3 or an Athlon, so nows a good time to find someone to buy your old system

you have a MAX heatsink??? cool... but there is only the option of heatsink or fan

The numbers you have are about right for that CPU... drivers should not make a huge difference unless they release a TurboGL for k6-2...
