    Wow matrox, way to go...

I must say after hearing some of the banter about TurboGl on some threads, I never thought they'd release a TurboGl for non-PIII's and non-Athlons, and especially not for PII's and Celerons. Matrox comes through again, looks like they've gotten their act together. Methinks I'll get a G400...

well I changed my apeture to 256 and installed the turbogl driver and then ran the task manager and it found unreal tourney and quake 3 demo test and installed driver for both. when i run q3 demo I get a white flashing screen. I can hit keys and hear it going through the sounds and stuff of the menu but nothing else. Using G400 32 SH and 5.41 powerdesk
PS I just tried UT full version and its no go also, i can hear music in backgroud but I see a small black window and also see part of my desktop and everything is flashing. When i had it look for supported cards it did not even see opengl I had to manually select it but i verified that both turbogls for both games are installed
        Help

        K6-2 450
        128 megs sdram
        G400 32 SH

          jediphoenix,

Try using driver ver. 5.30. Many SS7 users, me included, need to.

UT runs very well in Opengl on my PIII system using the new TurboGL, even with Detail textures turned on. With the old TGL it wouldn't run at all in OGL.

              *UPDATE*
Didn't realize my Graphics Aperture was still set at 128mb, changed it to 256 and my FPS went up AGAIN ! From 49.4 to 52.5.
This driver has most certainly made my day. =)

This is with a vanilla G400 - think I'll try it overclocked now and see how I go...

Thanks for the info Nikos. I had taken my V2 out for a bit after I started using my G400Max (D3D) for UT, but put it back when I started playing Unreal again, too. Unreal just ran better (older engine, even with 225f) with the V2.

Anyway, I had tried out UT with the TGL too, and, while much better than the first release of the ICD, it still was, as you said, unplayable. Guess I need to remove my V2 again and install the new TGL, so I can try it out again. One of the things I liked about the image under openGL was that the z-buffer probs appeared to go away.
