  • Gran Prix Legends and Marvel G400

I just purchased a Marvel G400 TV and am unable to play my favorite game
GPL. I installed the patch for the G200 card, but it just resets to
software mode. I know that this is probably no big deal for you guys, but I
love this game and had just gotten it working right with my TNT2 video card,
that I replaced with the Marvel. I have had no problems with any of the
other installation procedures and downloaded all of the latest drivers from
their website before I even installed the card. I also installed the Turbo
GL file. I have a Celeron 300a (oc 450) 128 M SDRAMM, and my system is as
solid as a rock. Should this patch work with the G400? I imagine that it is for the MGA200 chips, so I may be left out to dry. Does anyone have a fix.

I do not think that there is a patch yet for this game and the G400... this game was simply made for Glide and needs patches for other engines...

Actually, where have to be a patch for G400, because Matrox used two PC's on CeBit'99 to show GPLegends. One with G200 and the other with G400. The G400 with doubled framerates compared to G200. But, I havn't seen these drivers and suppose that will not see them.

wow that really interests me! I tried all sorts of things including the g200 patch from matrox, the opengl driver from papyrus and all the glide wrappers I could find.

Nothing worked, so in the end I re-installed one of my old v2's and use that for GPL. I wouold be very interested in a g400 patch.

BTW I had heaps of trouble trying to get the v2 to work on my Athlon/ASUS K7m. The problems seemed to go away when I ran g400tweak, so I recommend that!
