  • Kruzin got a question for ya...

Ok I have really a no name monitor (Voxon II) hehe...
    0.26 dot pitch 17"
    Looks very nice.

The default plug and play refresh rate setting for my monitor at 800x600 is 85Hz. I tested out a few other settings and found that at 110Hz the screen goes black but at 109Hz everything is fine.

Will keeping the refresh rate at 100Hz hurt the monitor in any way since it only get screwed up at 110Hz ???

Thx again for telling me about this in a previous post

    Athlon 500MHz @ 750MHz 1/3
    G400 32 meg Dual-Head Vanilla @ 160.2/200.25 (400.5, 2.5/2.0/2.5)

Kruzin I don't think I have to push my monitors refresh rate up any more Damn I am stupid to not notice that Vsynch was enabled (just reformatted my hard drive last week)

But could you still reply to my previous post.

I love this message board for all it's help

Running the monitor at higher refresh rates than spec'd may shorten the life of the monitor, and can occasionally damage them (especially older ones without good protection against going over their limit).

85Hz is high enough for most people. I know on my 21" I can't visually distinguish the difference between 85 and 100 Hz, so anything over 85 is just unneeded wear and tear on the monitor.
