Can't Force AGP 2x on Athlon system, help please.

I have an Athlon setup:
Asus K7M v1.04
Athlon 500@800 or just a plain Athlon 500

I used the PDRegistryHacks for PD5 and PCILIST still states that my AGP is set to 1x.

How come I can't force it?

Look at the registry hack.
the last branch for the key is \0000
If your card is not at \0000 in your registry (which often happens), they don't work. Figure out what number your card is really at, and edit and re-apply the hack...

I tried it.
There are 0000, 0001, and 0002.
Matrox is in the 0001 and 0002.
I placed the registry settings in both of them to make sure.
Still doesn't work.
it's 1x.

What FSB are you running at?

Also, what is your VIO setting for the AGP voltage? (Look at p. 19 of the K7M manual to find out.)

Asus ships the K7M with a slightly higher than spec AGP VIO of 3.4V. You may want to try setting at 3.31V.

I've got a K7M/Athlon 700/G400 running OK. I had to use the registry hack to force agp2x. After I read some other bb postings, I went ahead and dropped my VIO down to 3.3V as well. Sometimes these things get very picky over seemingly small voltage changes.
