  • NFS3: Hot Pursuit prob with G400

after playing NFS3 for about 5 minutes, the game crashes with an access violation or some shit like that. is the G400 just not properly supported by NFS3? when i did the 3D Device Setup for NFS3, it said that the D3D Device 1 was not a supported card and there could be problems. well, visual quality just sucks, there are misaligned polygons, offset textures, i could go on all day... NFS3 is the only game i have this problem in. is there a patch or something available? please help... it worked fine with my Voodoo3!!!

    Hi,

First of all, NFS3 is a GLide (read 3dfx for now) native game. Second, I play NFS3 all the time on both my V3 and G400, and the only differences I see are some missing visual features, such as bullet holes and fogging, on my G400. I don't have any artifact, visual quality, or speed problems using my G400. All I did was run 3dsetup or something or another, and I was good to go (yeah, it said my card wasn't supported, but it worked fine).

I just went to EA's site and they recommend the following if you are having trouble with the game and your Matrox video card:

"Next make sure that your desktop settings are set to the resolution you wish to play the game in at 16-bit high color (640x480, 800x600, etc.)."

The only make reference to the error you're getting and the Voodoo Banshee.
