  • A whole new HL problem

After going form 5.3 to 4.51 due to Macrovision probs I have finally returned now that I have the Macrovision crack for Vid Tools 1.51. Anyways in HL I get the Blue Screen of Death about 1 sec after the console opens up to load up the game. I can get to the main menu and change settings but I get that prob if I try to go any further. This happens in both OGL and D3D. HL has worked with all other drivers(downloading 5.41 at this moment). I would like to get it to work with 5.3 though because 5.41 is not officially supported.

    Thanks,
    Thien

Use PD 5.25. 5.30 has problems with DX 7.0.

I have tried them all and found 5.25 to be the best for me.

I used 5.41 and they work great in OGL and D3D. I don't need to use my VidTools yet so it's all good.

Hi. I'm a new G400 Max user and new to this forum. I had tearing problems with HL and the 5.30 drivers and was only able to play in 800X600 res or system would crash/hang especially when trying to save. With the 5.41/turbo drivers can now play in 1024X768 and either 16 or 32 bit colour with no problems. Vertical and horizontal lines( stair rails and door frames) sometimes appear jagged but I can live with that.
