G400 and Q3 Arena

Anybody have any clues / tips as to the best setup for an Ath 600 , 128mb , 32mb sh G400 for playing Q3 because at the moment it runs like a not very fast thing . Ive just got mgatweak but have no idea what to do with it to get the best results . Any help appreciated .

Now this is for speed and not looks. putting this into an autoexec gives me about 25fps more. Thats alot. If you want to go back to the good looking just move the autoexec to a different folder or rename it and hit default under settings.

Gotta give us just a little more info. Even with a top end Athlon, you are still fill rate limited at certain resolutions with a g400. Running quake3 at/over a resolution of say 1024x768 with 32-bit depth/textures can be extremely harsh on even a g400max's healthy specs. With your system specs, 800x600 with turbogl should be more than sufficient. Running it at 16-bit depth/textures, even with high detailed textures, should keep you well above even a 30 fps minimum in a torturously heated battle.
