I'm not up on the AMD chipset stuff... but does the K7M use Via's chipset? If it does, they just released new 4in1 drivers yesterday. Those might help.

Ok I got it working now. With the latest BIOS of my Mainboard (which by the way wasnt available on the taiwanese website but only on the german one) and the amd miniport drivers.

BUT: I had to use 5.30 because with 5.41 the game would freeze after 10 secs or so.
AND it wont run anymore with the standard ICD (freeeezzzzee)
AND: Turbo GL looks pretty shitty, doesnt it?
I can see the the raster everywhere - its like playing in 16 bit although in Q3A 32 bit are set!!!!
AND its not that much faster (I have no benchmarks but I can "feel" it...:-)
Now I will do a clean install of win98 SE and will never ever use turbo GL anymore -
The Standard ICD looks MUCH better
              dont you think?

I guess you have your desktop set to 16bpp before you launched Q3 ...

Try to set it to 32bpp and check Q3 again with 32bit textures and colordepth.

Did you use the Uninstaller from Matrox for changing drivers ?

If not, do so, because the seem to be a few leftovers causing those crashes ...

i'm kinda leery with your aperture at 256 w/ only 128 meg of RAM. from what i understand, the aperture is how much RAM is reserved (i was under the assumption that it reserved it, and excluded it from AGP using it, maybe its how much AGP is allowed to use.) i don't konw, but i got 128, and my aperture is set to 64, and it works fine.

I just set it to 256 MB because in the Turbo GL readme the matrox people tell me to do so ... I didn´t think about it-but maybe vitual memory can also be used as video memory (although it might be a little bit slower than SGRAM)

The G400, for some reason I'm not aware of, runs contrary to the conventional wisdom regarding AGP aperture size. Again, this is something that Matrox has advised G400 users to do, and most of the time, it works.

Some people have had better luck at 128 Mb. Others use 64 without a problem. I guess this is the glory of PC computing.
