  • Mousewheel in Q3Arena

    Hi!
    I've just bought a new Logitech Pilot USB-wheelmouse. When I start Q3arena and go into setup\controls\shoot i can use mousewheel for eg. next weapon or anything else. But Starting a game and using the mousewheel has no effect????
    Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Are there any patches for mice like mine?

    Dunno about Windows, but in Linux, it was recommended to bind the mousewheel to a keyboard button (using the mouse drivers/software), and set that button to do an action (like next weapon).

    Hope this helps, at least as a temporary fix.

      start regedit and search for the entry:
      "MouseHookDllEnable"

      change the value to 0, i think...
      if it is 0, change it to 1....
      now your wheel will work in Q3A...

        Hi kewlcat!
        Ok now I've bound F9 to middlemouse and giving the nextweap to F9 give me the nextweap onclick! That's a little better but what I really wanna have is mouse1, mouse2, mouse3, mwheelup and down this would give me five mousebuttons!! Now it comes the same mouse on work but with Q3test 1.08 give me all this without any prompt or setting. Also I mean that I saw an usbpatch for Q3arena last few days, but hell I cannot remember where it was! .

        So all you murcer "HELP PLEASE" whining ;-)

          Thanks for your help!
          I've just found this ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/TechSupport/MOUSE/Game_Whl.EXE and I hope it will work properly. Maybe this is some "automatic MouseHookDllEnable" (hi nitromiind :-). If it doesn't i will try your manual version! thx so far ca m-co

          P.S. This is the resolutoion REGEDIT4

          [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Logitech\MouseWare\Cur rentVersion\Technical]
          "MouseHookDllEnable"="0"
          "WheelMsgToVmouse"="1"

            If the GAME_WHL.exe doesn't work, try going to your Task Manager (ctrl + alt + del) and clicking on EM_EXEC.exe and "End Task". Then go into the game set up your mouse as you like.
