What about with the regular ICD instead of the TurboGL?

tried removing latest driversplus turbogl and back to
5.30 which is what Iassume you mean by regular icd but no joy, lockups still occur.

No TurboGL is a separate driver from the ICD. Even after uninstalling the drivers, TGL is probably still there.

It would be in the game's folder, called opengl32.dll. It's a MiniGL that when present in the game folder, will override the full ICD (g400icd.dll+opengl32.dll in windows\system).

Look in the game folder, and rename that opengl32.dll to .bak. This will allow the game to use the full ICD...

              Hey ayoub_ibrahim,
I'm curious if you ever got your problems with OGL solved. I've got similar problems and similar system specs.
I finally upgraded from 5.13 (never had problems with it) to 5.41 and TurboGL. Then I installed Half-Life for the first time. It locks up whenever the CD music tries to play (I also have the latest SBLive drivers). Works OK in software mode and D3D, but freezes in OGL. I thought it was a problem with HL, but I just went back to Quake 2 and now I can't us CD Music in that game as well.

I can't figure out the conflict between CD Music and 5.41/TGL.

got my system working now in opengl.Seems that the problem in my case had almost nothing to do with drivers(have to run Q3A without turbogl though as it would lock up).Found that dma controller(found in device manager/system devices)reserved buffer was ticked, unchecked this and applied defaults and presto, the rest is history.

Thanks, I'll check my device manager when I get home -- haven't looked at it yet.

Disable your "Creative Multimedia Interface" in the device manager, it will not affect your sound.

I had problems with all TurboGL games crashing to the desktop at 640x480. I tried all of the suggestions that were given but to no avail. I had a problem with IRQ settings.
Go to your Device Manager in the System Properties and then goto the properties for the computer. Make sure that the G400 is on an IRQ higher than 9 and that its not being shared with any devices such as hard disks. If your G400 is not visible on this list then goto your bios and look for an option called ASSIGN IRQ TO VGA. This should be set to YES.
I don't know whether this is of any use but I hope you get your games to work soon.

Sorry, I just saw your bit about having IRQ set to 11. That will teach me to read the whole of the message!!!....doh!
