  • Clean up Dx7a

    Hi all,
I installed he DirectX 7.0a and my G200 driver doesn't like it, the problem is I don't know how could I clean it up!
There is no "DirectX" in my "Add/Remove Programes" and it WAS there when I use DirectX 6.0!
Now my G200 keep saying "no directX find" or something like that.
Is there any way I could uninstall Dx7a before I reinstall my Win98?

    Thanks!

Have you tried the dx uninstaller you can DL from some of the gaming sites??

I don't know if it works for 7.0a, if it doesn't, you are out of luck.

Try going to the topic "Where to find DirectX 6.1a" under the same forum. It might help you out.

            From Microsoft:

NOTICE: After installation, the DirectX 7.0a run time cannot be uninstalled because it changes core components and makes numerous registry changes within your operating system.

Get the latest G200 drivers they recognise DX7 the old drivers give you that message. Error 22. It is because the drivers don't recognise DX7 they recognise up to DX6. DOn't worry DX7 is installed to double check go to start--> Run--> dxdiag There you will see that Direct X 7 is installed. You could always just ignore the error message and uncheck the diagnostics that say do direct X check on start up. presto no more errors.

Well, Protege, should I assume that I'll get better performance with the strange Dx7a?
                ;-)

                  Protege or anyone,

Is there drivers that will recognize direct 7 for Matrox Millennium II AGP 8MB? Do I need to update my PowerDesk or what version of PowerDesk can my video card handle?

                  Thanks.
