Is there any need to reinstall turboGL afetr updating the mga drivers to 5.50 ?

After I installed the beta drivers, I clicked on the QuickDesk icon (in the tray), and selected TurboGL Manager from the menu. I then scanned the games to see whether the driver was installed, out of date, or not installed. It appears that everything is still installed fine. This doesn't mean that you won't have some problems with OpenGL games since the new betas have been installed- the TurboGL still works through the PowerDesk drivers. And I've already seen a report from Kruzin (I think, if not, sorry Kruzin) that OpenGL apps (and games) appear to work fine until you try to quit, at which point you get some sort of error, and can't run ANY 3D apps (D3D or OpenGL) until after you reboot.

So far though, I haven't had any problems, and UT appears much cleaner (not sure why, since I still see some probs) that with the 5.41 drivers. I haven't tried my Q3 yet.

Same here, QIII returns to desktop on entry even before before the ID software logo is displayed. Remove turbogl and it runs fine but at a reduced frame rate.
        Is there a fix?

John, does the Wicked400 timedemo work with the new UT patch?

Looks like there is no need for the turbogl. I get 35fps @1024*768*32 in Q3 demo1&2 with the 5.50 drivers. Vsync is off, Sb live, textslider 3/4, sound high, bilinear filter. I tested trilinear filter and it costs 5fps.
My hardware: g400max PIII450 256mb P3B-F nothing o/c'd. Last week I tested the turbogl/5.41 at 37fps (same settings), not enough to worry about. All my other applications work as well or better than before. Good work Matrox thanks for the 5.50 drivers.

paulcs, i installed the UT405B patch yesterday, it works with Wicked400 timedemo for me.
This is interesting. When I start UT+UT405B first with this benchmark demo(wicked400) or this map DMFractal, there is no image clipping problem-Z buffer bugs, i see clear "yellow" lift pylon. When I start first another map and next this DMFractal map, I see on the "yellow" pylon huge z-buffer bugs. Z-buffer bugs are still present in all maps.

I test now UnREAL with 225patch, but no noticeable performance gains in Direct3D.

                sorry my english stuff

Ok....is it just me or does the TurboGL not work with the 5.30 drivers???? This is a letdown because i had to go back to the 5.30 drivers so i could play Thief and System Shock 2. Havent tried Halflife, Quake3, etc with 5.30 yet but i dont think the performance would match the 5.5 Turbogl...Any ideas??It kinda bugs me that matrox would release new drivers that dont fix old problems.
