I have an Abit BP6 with two Celeron 366's, not overclocked, a single headed G400 (16 megger), Voodoo 2 1000 PCI, and I'm having problems running some games under Windows 2000.
In Unreal Tournament, I'm trying to use glide under the NT 4 drivers that were converted to 2000 drivers on ntgamepalace.3dfiles.com. These drivers work fine for a while, but then after several minutes UT crashes everything and I can't get my computer into the task manager to quit the game. On this game I've tried to set the game to run on one processor at a time, by using the "set affinity" option in the task manager.
In Quake 3, I'm trying both my G400 and my voodoo 2 to load Quake 3 Arena using the command line for SMP. The movie plays and then it asks for the CD key in jumbled up letters. In this game I am able to go to the task manager and end the game.
One more game that I'm having problems with is Unreal 1. In this game I'm seeing the game load just fine, I'll set up a game and start playing. It freezes a lot like UT does, except that I'm able to go into the task manager and quit it when Unreal freezes up.
If anyone has any driver fixes or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. My setup is below:
Abit BP6 w/ two Celeron 366's
128 MBs PC100
Acer 40x CD-Rom
Memorex CRW-1622 CDRW
NEC Iomega Zip 100
Matrox G400 SH 16 MB
3Dfx Voodoo 2 1000 PCI 12 MB
IBM ATA 66 15.2 GB HD
Netgear 10/100 Base T card
Diamond MX 300 Sound Card, using NT5 drivers
