  • Updated Q3-dll for P2/Celeron

    Hi dudes,

    update time again

    grab these DLLs if you're running a PII or Celeron ...

    Reports telling around 5-10 FPS gain in 800x600 ... I haven't checked 'em yet, but I think every single FPS is worth a shot.

    I think the must be extracted into your Q3 main folder (not baseq3) ...

        Heya

        just got the P2/Celeron dll's, had to get the Q3update also, anyway...

        800x600x32 got wen't from 50 to 55Fps, and the framerate, at least seemed, more constant... less speed drops. as said, all Fps are welcome =)

              Although these compiled dll files may work quite well, the only problem being it will cause problems if you try to play modded servers in the future.

                  Also, this is ID's responce to DLL files.

                  //
                  1. DLL use for mods
                  Our position on DLL use for mods is that it is a bad thing. DLL's are not multi-os compatible and they pose a much greater security risk than qvm's. Note, I did not say that qvm's are totally secure, they are not, but they are definately more secure than DLL's. DLL's are for debugging only and qvm's are the only official supported way to produce and distribute a mod. Period.

                    Maniac, you need the official update for Q3 for the dll's to work...

                        If you haven't grabbed these yet, do so. I highly recommend them. I only saw 3-5 fps difference in the timedemo, but in actual gameplay the difference was tremendous--silky smooth compared to the choppiness I had seen in the past.
