  • Thema park world / millenium 2

    Hello,
I'am trying to run thema park world on my millenium 2 card. Unfortunately it runs only in software mode, in the debug files I see some about alpha blending not supported...
Does somebody knows a solution for this?

Many thanks (from me, and my children)

I had a millenium 2 once too. An excellent card....... for business applications. It sucks with most games and will probably work only in soft. mode.

I suggest you buy a new card. I dont suggest getting a G200, it sucks with most games....even the G400 is overated. If you want a good card, get a 3DFX or a TNT/TNT2 card. both will work with 99% of the games and will be pretty fast. matrox cards aren't the fastest but produce the best picture quality)
(i know there will be 50 ppl who would disagree that matrox is not the fastest)

Nehalmistry, I won´t even touch the speed issue if you don´t want to, but a G400 surely also works with 99% of the games out there.

yes... theres no doubt that matrox is excellent in compatibility, what i meant was it didnt compare to other cards in speed... and those cards would work at a VERY playable rate in 99% of the games. sorry if i didnt make myself clear.

Thanks for your answers, but what I don't understand very well is why this program does not work even though I have directx7 certified drivers installed...

You said it did work in software mode. The Millenium 2 just doesn't have the hardware features for DX7 to be able to use hardware accelerated mode.

              That I don't understand...
I installed direct3D version 7 some weeks ago without a problem. This is the first game that doens't want to use hardware acceleration with my millenium 2 card.
All test with dxdiag are positive...

Logic dictates that you don't own a Millenium 2, or are using a secondary accelerator like a Voodoo card. Or you're just very confused.

DX7 will work on a Millenium 2, but it will use software running on your CPU to emulate all 3D features.
