    G400 MAX ,SMP & W2K

    Hello MURCS,

    I have a dual celeron(2 x 400 @ 528) with a G400 MAX. I run w98se/winnt4(SP6a) and w2k(RC2) on one machine. I works like a charm. The only thing is I'm having a lot of trouble with the G400 beta drivers for W2K. I get lockups all the time and Q3A won't start. Tried SMP mode but is doesn't matter. UT hangs in a few secs. I tried lower res and color depth, but nada. The weird thing is a saw some posts in the forum and a new article a http://www.firingsquad.com where it does work.

    Everything works fine in Winnt4 and Win98SE. Do you have any suggestions??

    Win2k drivers for the G400 have "issues" with SMP. It only happens on some systems. *shrug*

      Gurm I saw your post about the new prototype drivers. Are the SMP issues history with those drivers?

        Don't know since i only have a single processor system. THe OpenGL crashes are gone though. (grin)

          Punk, RC2 is part of your problem.
          Upgrade to the final build (2195).

          The OGL games will work just fine. Only problem is it's way too slow and control is very unresponsive.

          I doubt Q3A's smp support will work with the current drivers.

          I dream of the day when we'll be able to play Q3A with TurboGL and SMP support enabled under Win2K.
