  • Problems in Q3 and UT. Please help me out!

Well this prob is not very easy to describe for me (English is not my first language).
In Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 and some other games, the textures don't look very good. If I look in the distance in UT (especially in the larger ctf maps), the textures screw up: you can see textures, and models through other textures.
In Q3 some textures are very bright,
and there are some weird stripes on them.
I tried the drivers from the cd and the new drivers.

    System:
    celry 466 (not o/ced)
    matrox g400
    64 mb pc100
    sb live 1024
    ...and the usual boring stuff

    Plz help me!
    TIA

The UT problem is a known bug. Q3 might be too, but I don't know about it.

Do you use the turbogl with Q3A with and direct3d with Unreal?

      What OS do you use?

        I use Winblows 98.
Yes I now have installed the TurboGL drivers, but on this site (matroxusers.com) I read that it is meant for pcs with 128 mb or more ram. I only have 64. I don't think this will be such a big problem, but who knows?
        Yes UT in direct3d.

Since you are running UT in D3D mode, TurboGL wont affect anything. However, what version of DirectX are you running? I had a similar problem with DX6.1a until I put in DX7. Also, whats your AGP aperture set at in the BIOS? with 64MB of RAM, it shouldnt be more than 32

I'm running directx7, so that should be no prob. Well actually I tried all agp aperture sizes but I'll try 32 or lower again.
What excactly does this agp aperture do???

Actually if you use TurboGL, you should use 256Mb AGP aperture size.. atleast with my system it fu**d up my Q3A textures if i didnt push it to 256.. ( 128Mb memory ) so just use 256 Mb, works just fine. =)

OK I'll try that. But what does AGP Aperture size do exactly?
