  • Memory Blunders

I have a celleron 400 chip in my ABit BM6 M/Board. I currently have 64Mb of 66MHz RAM and I am looking to upgrade.
Should I Get a 128Mb 66MHz Dimm to get up to 192Mb, or get rid of my current memory and get a new 128Mb 100MHz Dimm?
The performance in 3D games is terreble at the moment so which of these would give me better all round performance.
    Any replies are greatly apreciated.

cjolley is right. Performance with your current setup should be decent. Define what you mean by terrible, what games are you running, benchmarks, etc.

Buying more PC66 ram is not worth it. Go for 128 PC100 and either trade in the 64 to save cash or run them together.

If you are going to buy memory, get 100mz or 133mz memory. That way you may not have to pitch it all at your next upgrade. It will run fine at 66mz.
If performance in 3D is terrible, perhaps there is another problem.
