  • G400 NOT 4X WOW!

THIS IS IN CAPS BECAUSE I AM PISSED MAN GODAMN PISSED AT MATROX!!!!!this is
why, i was one of the first to get the g400 max dual head 32 mg board. because
i am loyal to matrox, but this might change very fast!!!!!!!!!! I found out
that the first g400S that came out are NOT 4X.!!!!!!!!!
NO WAY NO HOW!!!! this is what i found out so all of you will now. the g400s
that dont have a 4 in the part number between the a and the 32 are NOT I
REPEAT NOT 4X COMPLIANT!!!! here is a example G4+MMDHA32GR <-----IS NOT
BUT IF IT LOOKED LIKE THIS
    G4+MMDH4A32GR<-----IT IS 4X COMPLIANT
so i called matrox and talked to sabastian at the matrox desk and he told me
it is very unlikely that they will do anything about it, but he will talk to
heads of the department to what can be done!!and that they are taking care
of these cards on a person buy person basses!WELL I SPENT ALMOST 300.00 and this is wrong! i should have been notified of this big mistake and told yea send it to us and we
will rectify this 4X screw up but no, they i think are giving me the run
around!!so i will keep you posted as to what they are doing .im not making a
threat but i read the box and the manual and even the sales person told me
it was 4x but now its a different story THATS FALSE ADVERTISING ANYWAY YOU
LOOK AT IT AND THEY NEW IT OR THE PART NUMBERS WOULD NOT BE DIFFERENT
    DAMNIT!! bh.flash.105@mindspring.com

1- Duh. If you could find this forum to bitch, you should have been able to find BEFORE your purchase. Then you would have known like the rest of us that the early G400 where 2x transfer cards. They ARE 4x compliant, in that they will fit in a 4x slot, and auto-adjust to the proper voltage. Thus, the "2x/4x" label on your box. If you look at the side of the box, it will also state something like "maximum transfer rate of 512MBs". Guess what. That's 2x! Is it Matrox's fault that you jumped to the wrong (uneducated) conclusion?

2- SO WHAT. If you think 2x vs 4x makes jack crap worth of difference, you are kidding yourself. We don't even use 1x to it's full bandwidth. 4x is nothing but a marketing buzzword. There is NO game on the market today that will show a noticable difference.

3- Whining is not tolerated here. f you have an opinion you want to voice, do it in the SOAP BOX forum. that's what it's there for. This thread will be closed now.
