New Drivers + Windows 2000 Gaming

Anyone tried games on the new Windows 2000 drivers that came out today?

I know when I was playing UT that things were much slower in 2000 than in 98 because the drivers weren't anywhere close to being tweaked yet. Going to load it up tomorrow see what it's like.

I have tried Quake3 and Unreal T under W2K with the new Matrox beta drivers for the G400 (5.01). Now both games work which is a great improvement over the previous beta drivers (5.00). Unfortunately both games locked up on me after a few minutes of play. The lockup appears to be sound related - because both games were working perfectly and then froze totally with the last sound repeating infinitely.

I ran Mechwarrior 3 : Pirate's Moon for an hour last night in win2k pro with the new drivers no problemo.

Is there any chance rmc that you have a Vortex2 card like I have. Mine is an Diamond MX300 and Windows 2000 uses a default Aureal Sound driver with what appears to be no support for 3D sound.
