  • essential opengl files

I did search MURC forum and have identified the following files on my machine:

    windows\system:
    glu32.dll (136kb) win98
    Opengl32.dll (736kb) win98
    g400icd.dll (1.79MB) matrox

when Turbogl is installed, then you get the
Matrox opengl32.dll in the relevant game file

But what is this and where does it come from?
    windows\system\opengl.dll (1.15MB)

Have I found an errant file?

I don't believe you have found an errant file, there are a few programs that will add .dll's to your system folder, and I am sure there are some that add one called opengl.dll.

I think its part of the SGI opengl release.
      Caligari Truespace installs it.

Thank you. I haven't played TrueSpace, but it might be from a desktop theme I downloaded. The only other "OGL supported" game I've installed is Unreal 225f . I asked because I am having horrible problems with Half Life.
I was wondering if an errant opengl.dll could be the cause of the problems. I'll remove it and see what happens.
