  • Can't get Expendable Working! EEK!

    <table><tr bgcolor=black><td bgcolor=black><font face="ocr a extended" size=4 color=lime>
    ok - heres the problem:
    i have a G400 MAX with AMD K6-3 450 with 128Mb RAM and a 64bit sound blaster
and it runs every game i have tried (except for expendable)
what happens is that when i install it and run it, it starts up showing "powered by AMD" or something then it just quits to the desktop!
    grrrr
i have reformatted about 2 times since (for various reasons) and it still does it.
if you either have any help, suggestions or if you have the same problem, please reply to this message

Is the installation CD in your machine when it does this. (I apologize if it is. It happens a lot.)

I have tried with and without the CD in the drive, but it makes no difference.
Also, I quite often get the message "FATAL ERROR - The BDF is missing !"

      hope this helps...

The BDF error is related to the installation CD not being in your machine. Go into your motherboard's BIOS and disable video caching and shadowing. That's helped others in the past.

        Good luck.

Maybe the driveletter of your CDROM changed after you installed Expendable? If that is the case you have to open the CONFIG.DAT file in you game directory, wich contains something like:

            CdRom E:\
            HardDrive c:\gmz\Expendable
            Language ENGLISH

Change the Cdrom driveletter, save the file and Expendable will run fine, even under W2K.
