  • a big hand for matrox....

OK everybody, a big hand for the guys (and gals ?)
over at matrox for working their butts off , updating
drivers(thief and team alligator working now) and refining OGL
(every new release till now got more fps for q3).
Companies making games primarily for people with geforces, TNT2's
and voodoo cards doesn't make it any easier for matrox.
I appreciate their efforts, and IMHO they've done a pretty good job sofar.

Yeah, Matrox driver team, Thumbs up for you!

Your new Win2K beta driver is probably the best driver around for ANY videocard now! G400 rocks in Win2K! Q3A even works perfectly on my PC now! If you continue to make such good drivers for future products, I will probably always buy Matrox. Right now, the G400 is the best allround card to get for any OS!

Yessir, these new drivers do really rock. I went from 32.8fps with 5.41 and TGL to 40.3 in q3Demo1 with everything cranked up as high as it will go in 8x6. This is with the standard ICD, mind you not the turbogl. Also D3D scores are up appreciably as well. I have one complaint tho... I think that they sort of "cheated" on the ICD making it biased towards Q3 as my OGL Descent3 scores went way down. Used to be playable, and now it is a slideshow. Not a real biggie as I use D3D for that anyway, but... Good job tho.. and keep it up. Canada Kicks Ass!

For all those who read the Tweak3d.net forums, you are all pretty familiar with my pimping of Matrox products. All I have to say is that the G400 MAX rocks on my 533. Although Ge-Force DDRs may be faster in some instances, their color reproduction is inferior (IMHO). I love Matrox because they certainly are dedicated to keeping customers happy.
