PD 5.50 and SS7

Just a query here.. had probs with 5.41 which took me quite a while to fix..so am wondering if 5.50 is any better for an SS7 sys? Just some input on who has tried it out etc.. And what sort of precautions did you take..

5.5 doesnt work very well on Via chipsets

Mine isnt VIA chipset.. it's an ALi one. But just did it this morning and got it to work upon the first try. No corruptions, no crashes as before. And UT looks good in 1024x768 @ highest detail with 5 bots..averaging 27 fps.

Not bad for a lowly K62.

I'm still running a FIC 503+, with AMD K6-2 @ 450. You mentioned that the 5.50 drivers don't mix well with VIA chipset. This may be the reason my system blue-screened when I went in to play Opposing Forces. I went back to 5.41. Are other SS7 and VIA users experiencing the same thing with the 5.50? With all the good reports on the fixes this beta brought, I was so optomistic, but I can't get it to work for me. Do I wait until the next release? -aargh-

AZvato, wenDigo managed to get it working with the same board as you. AFAIK, he's the only one to get it working on a Via chipset.

You guys got the 5.41 drivers to work with a VA503+?

i could only get the TGL and Q3 to work with v5.3 drivers...

i'm downloading the 5.5 drivers atm, but the beta didn't work either...
