The Sims: Doesn't close correctly on G400?

Not every time, but perhaps 9/10 times, The Sims corrupts my Win98 desktop when I quit. I can close Windows by using my memory of hotkeys, but all my icons and menus are graphical gibberish.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm using the latest beta drivers, BTW.
