    See signature for system details.

I too get the exiting to desktop on both machines with 3DMark2000.

Q3A is terrible on the primary sys running the ACPI Multiprocessor HAL -- the whole system locks up in a few seconds, and when it runs long enough to finish a timedemo, I get 30 fps (as opposed to ~48 in Win98).

Now on the secondary sys running the Standard PC HAL Q3A is perfect. In fact, it is only 1 fps slower than in Win98. Not noticeable at all.

    ------------------
primary sys: ASUS P2B-DS, Dual P3-500, 512 MB RAM, SB Live! Platinum, Pioneer DVD-303, Yamaha 6416S, Cambridge SoundWorks DeskTop Theater 5.1 DTT2500 Digital, and of course a Matrox G400 MAX
secondary sys: Abit BE6, P3-500, 384 MB, SB Live! Value, Pioneer DVD-303, and of course a Matrox G400 OEM SH 32 MB

The Q3A prob has been fixed, something to do with Power Management in my mobo's BIOS. But the 3dmark2k problem still holds fast.

I can get 3DMark to complete about 1 time out of 10. Once it has exited unexpectedly you have to reboot, it will never complete no matter how many times you run it.

Currently I getting around 2500, which is within 100 points of my Win98 scores. CPU scores are higher under W2k, framerates are 2 to 3 fps lower. The big difference seems to be bump mapping, scores are much lower on Win2k, especially for the embossed flavours. I wonder if this is a driver issue or a dx problem?

I've never had it run the whole test. It freezes while loading the second test. It's damn annoying!
