Don't know if anyone still has the game installed, but can anyone run Rollcage on their G400 card? I got a vanilla 32M G400 about six months ago, and since then had not tried to run Rollcage, but it ran fine on my old G200.
Symptoms? Sometimes it will not start up at all (entering 3d mode--the menus load fine), and at other times it might play the game for a minute, and then pop out. Turning off all graphics options and playing in 640X480 has the same result. Tried the demo version and the same thing happens.
I've underclocked my system, underclocked my videocard, switched to AGP 1X--nothing helps. At most, I might get two minutes of gameplay out of it, and then get dumped back to the desktop. Everything else (yes, even AGP intensive games) runs just fine on the system.
It's been like this for a while in the driver revisions, and it still is this way with 5.05.01 (or whatever the most recent is.) Interesting, if I fire Rollcage up on the G200 with the same drivers (in a different machine) it runs just dandy.
If anyone else has it installed (or wants to just download the demo at ftp://ftp.avault.com/demos/Rollcage.zip), I'd much appreciate it. I'd hate to think it was just my system, because it used to run fine in this system with the G200 installed.
Normally, I wouldn't care that much. But since Rollcage:Stage2 is slated for release next month, I just wanted to make sure that the engine (if they haven't changed it too much) will work fine on the G400.
