  • I don't understand this?

I run benchmarks for Q3A at normal and highest settings and get the same results? I then remember reading a previous thread that trilinear filtering takes a big hit so I set it to bilinear. I STILL get the same results! I'm actually fairly pleased that I can set it to highest setting with high sound quality and 33fps(demo001) with the following:

    K6-2 500
    192MB
    G400 32MB DH

What is your refresh rate? I bet it's 100Hz.
33 is aprox 1/3 of 100Hz. Since the system cant make 100fps, or 66 (2/3 of 100), or 50 (1/2 of 100), it is dropping to 33. Try running with vsync disabled....if it's enabled, you will always get an even division of the refresh...

Kruzin (or anyone who knows), is Vsync now enabled for OpenGL? I haven't seen any evidence of this with the new drivers.

Or do you think Helevitia has it enabled in the game?

hmmm....I thought it was disabled by default and I'm fairly certian my refresh rate is set to 85Hz. I'll have to check when I get home this evening. anyway, thanks Kruzin

I checked my refresh rate(75Hz, i bumped it to 85Hz ) and to see if v-sync was disbled(it was), so now I'm really confused. Anyone else have an idea?

          Thanks,

          Dave
