  • UnrealTournament doesn't work with new drivers on G200!!!

But the new PD 5.52 doesn't really work on my system.
Well, it increased my FPS in Quake3 and works really fine with this game,
but it doesn't work with UT. I had no problems with the old drivers, but now UT is unplayable with the new ones. In the game, I can only see powerups, lights on walls and the textures around the level (likestars, for example). But everything else is black. No floor, no walls.

(I play in D3D,800x600, 16bit color depth, world texture detail and skin detail set to medium)

Matrox has to fix this problem quick!!!

    my system: P3 500, 64MB Ram, Matrox Millenium G200 (8MB), Windows 98
    Pentium3 500Mhz
    192MB Ram
    Matrox Millennium G200(8MB)

I haven't tried this myself, but I read this in a different thread.

In UT, bring up the console and type "preferences". This brings up another window. Under rendering and then direct3d, disable multi texturing.

But why did it work with the old drivers?
I didn't change any settings in UT, just installed the new drivers!

        Other Question:
        What is better for UT:
        Direct3D or Opengl?

        Never tried opengl myself.

I dunno why it worked with the old drivers.

I've never tried OpenGL with UT, but from what I read, it is much more optimized for directx.

OpenGL in UT is, by Epic's own admission, "experimental". Meaning D3D is the way to go for sure.
